Current Service Update

Leicester Libraries remain closed until further notice. Our priority is to reduce coronavirus infection rates in the city and we need to dedicate our resources to supporting that effort.

All existing loans have been extended until 28th June 2021, there are no overdue charges during this period.  All new loans will be for a period of 6 weeks.

All of our eResources are still available, our website has full details of our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics and eMagazines.

If you are having problems accessing our online resources your card may have expired. Please email libraries@leicester.gov.uk with your library card number, address and date of birth.  We will update your account and email you back within five working days.

Check out our Twitter and Facebook profiles for the latest information on all our services.

Leicester Libraries

While libraries are closed you can join online.

Once you have completed the online form, we will email you within five working days with the temporary library card number and PIN.

This temporary card will allow you to access our Digital Library including all of our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eComics.

This card will be active for 6 months after the libraries reopen, within that time you will need to bring proof of identification to one of the libraries where your card will be made permanent.

Due to the ongoing situation, this service is currently only available to residents of Leicester,  Leicestershire or Rutland.
