During the coronavirus situation our members can temporarily access Ancestry online, from the comfort of their own home. This was previously only available via the computers in the Central Library. Many thanks to Proquest, our provider, for this enhanced access.
To gain access to Ancestry, please log into your Account in the top right of the home-page. The button to log into Ancestry will then appear below this box.
Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus situation all of our libraries and community centres are closed to the public until further notice.
All library loans have been extended until 1 September 2020. During this period of closure you will not incur any fines.
However all of our eResources are still available, our website has full details of our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics and eMagazines.
If you are having problems accessing our online resources your card may have expired. Please email email@example.com with your library card number, address and date of birth. We will update your account and email you back with two working days.
Although our library buildings are closed you can still join online.
Once you have completed the online form, we will email you within two working days with the temporary library card number and PIN.
This temporary card will allow you to access our Digital Library including all of our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eComics.
This card will be active for 6 months after the libraries reopen, within that time you will need to bring proof of identification to one of the libraries where your card will be made permanent.
Due to the ongoing situation, this service is currently only available to residents of Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland.
To join a Library
- Visit any library with proof of name and address
- Complete the online form then visit a library with proof of name and address to collect your card.
