I decided to read this on the back of many favourable reviews by book bloggers, I wasn't sure what to expect as I have been disappointed by some celebrity written books. However this was a pleasant surprise, not obviously the Graham Norton persona from theTV although some wit and humour came through. You couldn't help but warm to this clutch of characters in the small Irish town of Duneen. Warmly and sensitively written the mystery of the discovered human remains on the new development unfolds revealing deep and buried secrets. The local Garda, bumbling Sergeant PJ Collins is a likeable character and the main male in the whole plot, the others are mainly women each with their own histories, problems and struggles, Mrs Meany's story is so incredibly sad. On the whole a very enjoyable read, reccomended.
