Anyone who lives, works or studies in Leicester can join any of our libraries for free.

Join in person by visiting any Leicester Library – please bring proof of name and address, such as a driving licence with you. Children under the age of 16 do not need to provide identification.

To join online complete the form above:

~ please choose a library as your home branch so that your details can be registered

~ fields marked with an * must be filled in

~ to complete registration, you must tick the box at the end of the form, which means you agree to our library terms and conditions.

Once you have joined online you will be given a temporary library card number (UNREG000…). You can reserve 2 books from our catalogue straight away, but you will not be able to borrow items or use online resources until you have collected your card.

To obtain your library card you will need to visit a library with proof of name and address along with your UNREG number.
